Promotional Product Power Unleashed
Shirts and caps printed with company logo and slogan is a common sight everywhere you go- in shopping centers, in the park and in school. Often times you will notice eye-catching mugs on top of office desks. While on the underground, you will notice a woman carrying a bag screen printed with a company name and the service it is offering to the consumers.
These are just a few samples of promotional products. A promotional product is practically any item as long as it can be printed with the company name, logo, slogan, contact number and at times a brief message. Recently, the website is also added to the information found on promotional products.
Promotional products are given for various reasons. For companies, it serves as an effective marketing tool to create name and brand awareness and consequently draw potential customers. It is also a means by which a company can promote its image in the community. Clothing that is used as a promotional product is a walking advertisement. They help advertise the products of the company. During tradeshows, these products are great crowd drawers. However, it would not be advisable to give these products to every one that pops in the booth. Using these products as a prize for answering questions regarding the company and its product would be a more effective as customers would likely remember the company more thus creating brand and name awareness.
Have you noticed the local rugby club or football team wearing uniforms printed with the name of the sponsor company? Win or lose, the team as well as the community will recognize the efforts made by the sponsoring company. Giving out promotional products will enhance the image of a company and build public relation which would result to upping sales.
Lawyers, physicians and other professionals use promotional products as an expression of gratitude for loyalty and continued patronage. Schools would use folders, bags, pens for sports events, seminars and academic conventions. Even politicians are known to use promotional products during campaign sorties. They give away caps, shirts and visors printed with their name and the position they are running for. These products when given to employees will serve as recognition for a job well done. This recognition will help boost employee morale and will serve as a motivation for greater performance and productivity.
The best promotional product is one that can be associated with the company so as to create recall whenever the customer needs your products or services. An example of this is a computer dealer using mouse and mouse pads as give-away items; personalised table napkins for restaurants and bottled shampoos and lotion for spas and hotels.
Promotional products may be tagged with a different name - give-aways or advertising specialties. But the fact remains that these products are as effective and useful as evidenced by the number of people sporting jackets, shirts, caps and umbrellas with a company logo on it. Being everywhere would mean that as an advertising tool, this is a winner. No other advertising tool would bring out a smile and a “thank you” from the recipient.

I don’t possess one t-shirt without a logo of some sort on it. This has to be the best form of advertising there is with hundreds of people walking around advertising your products on their everyday clothing and headwear. Cleaver ideas and eye catching designs get noticed don’t you think?

promo t shirts are great, but too many customers will not pay the money for a quality cotton t shirts, so when they give them away, people think ” i’ m not going to wear this cheap thing” and it ends up in the bin. The other problem is corporate customers print their logo far too big and a massive slogan on the reverse, nobody wanst to be a bill board for corporates, keep the print small and discreet.

Sonny I think Frank is right we need to suggest to corporate buyers that small is beautiful and more likely to be worn. Clothing is a good way to promote yourself but consideration to the size of the display needs to be understood.

The print needs to be visible but not t-shirt consuming. I think the look of the t-shirt helps with how often a t-shirt is worn. If the branding, logo, etc. is interesting, the promotion will be effective.

yeah I agree with you that the print needs to be visible. T-shirt is good choice but make sure the material you use can last longer. Choose a fabric that can blend well with the colors that you’ve chosen. The logos, company name and other related to the company and/or product should be printed in the area where visibility is high, people can look, read and recognize what you’re selling or the company.
and for the t-shirt, always up-to-date with the latest design.

is anyone scared that the uk economy is officially in recession?, think it’s going to I know get rough in the next year, especially if unemployment starts to rise and inflation takes off again. I know the uk economy was over heating and needs this correction, but I starting to think it will now swing right into recession for at least a coiple of years. What do people think?
August 24th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I’m sure the UK is not the only country that is facing recession, even the countries in the Asian region where I am now are experiencing the same problem. I just hope companies don’t skimp so much on their marketing efforts because of this.

I ‘m seeing signs of people fighting back against the recession this month, people spending on promo products, hope this keeps going in September.

Sometimes, promotional freebies may backfire simply because the promotional items are given easily and freely away with no strings attached - causing a percieved lack of value in the gitt and by extension the company. It is also a very tricky situation it a company charges a nominal fee or impose conditions on the “gift”.

The promotional products have become the must markéting key tools used in all business, lawyers, doctors, politicians …, it represents a very good publicity for all those who want to see their names or their businesses evolve. But it should not be there too many promotional products.

This is completely right. Giving away promotional products are much better option to promote a company as compared to any others means of promotion. Giving away T-Shirts, caps etc (with your company logo) are the best ones IMO because people can wear this stuff and can go in public places where other people may also see your company name.

I agree with the post that companies give away these promotional products especially to promote their company name in the industry. They especially try to make their company name as a brand name. Out of the products you mentioned, I observed tshirts and caps are the mostly given away as promotional products.

Clothing is the best promotional giveaway from a company.
The company will get maximum exposure through clothing giveaway. The customers/employees who receive the clothing in the form of promotional giveaway may also get satisfied at a maximum extent.
September 2nd, 2008 at 8:05 pm
I completely agree with this. When there is a writing on your shirt and you walk at the streets, especially when there is too crowded there is a huge exposure of the writing on your clothes. So t-shirts and other dressing are huge promotional tools for the companies for sure.
September 3rd, 2008 at 6:03 am
yes i too belive in the same way. t shirts are one of the best ways of promoting company’s name. because the same people may go to different parts of the world wearing the same t shirt. and it will aid in the promotions. they come at cheap rates and no one will not want it.
September 7th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Absolutely that shirts really have the promotional power and the best way to expose certain companies to public. But the shirts should stylish, comfortable and have cool design. If this
requirements are fulfil, I think there is no doubt why people should wear it.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
You are right. Your article has all the facts that one need to know. But ya it is true that no one will wear clothes just for the sake of it. But when go to like WWE people are crazy about it and wear all kinds of t-shirts. The thing is that they are promoting ones t-shirt by just giving a label on shirts.

Power of promotional product cant be imagined as it keeps the employee motivated and encourages them to give their 100% which in turn can increase the revenue of the company. So promotional procducts are very important
September 8th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
I completely agree with you daniel and andrew. While the company looks for promotion a person will only wear a clothing if it fits well and is comfortable to wear. A stylish desing adds much more verve and then however big the the co’s name might be, you don’t mind wearing the t-shirt. Andrew, you hit the nail right on the head when you said that the employees get motivated, most of the employees are quite proud to wear their co’s name across their chest.

Promotional products are important as said. It will increase the work satisfaction for the employees and the willingness to buy the product for the consumers. Both way everyone is happy. But the quality and looks matter much. So take utmost care in these give aways.

t shirts with company logo are really great . So an attractive T shirt will satisfy the employees as an effective gift they look for at some occasions . and ya a soft cotton textile prod. will do the needy

Whether an economy is in recession or not, business activities such as advertising and promotion need to be carried out in order to make profits. Some would even argued that more should be done during bad times in order to stimulate sales at lower costs.

I can’t believe that I missed your point, I will have to do some research on this….

T-shirt as promotional gift is great. But not all people like to wear an item which have company logo in it, mostly when all people know it’s free product.
Maybe it’s best to have few promotional product, so people can choose their favorite item as promotional gift. Need more fund to do this but I think it’s effective enough to attract customer.
November 8th, 2008 at 2:29 pm

I like to suggest you shirt than t-shirts because some of reliance staff have advertise their company by it much and we all knows what position reliance having, If this company can have this idea then it also good to all company strategy.
