Brand awareness is one of the most important aspects of a marketing campaign and one of the best ways to filter a brand and sales message into all aspects of peoples’ lives is using promotional gifts.
Providing a campaign is well managed and a clever selection of promotional gifts is chosen, brand awareness could be excelled far beyond any media advertising campaign could achieve because these items have a habit of trickling into homes, workplaces and everyday lives.
In the home: A mug in the kitchen, a pen by the phone, a mouse mat in the study, a torch in the garage. Notepads and calendars; paperweights and corkscrews; things that are used every day will promote your message and display your brand to an entire family, as well as having that ‘handy’ appeal that makes everyone appreciate you even more.
In the workplace: A desktop is a haven for gifts like memo holders, clocks, coasters and USB drives; but the promotional gift collection doesn’t stop at the desk; take a walk through to the staff room or canteen and you’ll see branded mugs and glasses, wall clocks and decorative gifts like vases and picture frames.
On the move: Gifts in the car like key rings, air fresheners and tax disc holders promote your brand to drivers and their passengers; gifts for the bag or briefcase, like a promotional umbrella, pen, notepad or calculator are useful and appreciated; travel gifts like passport holders and luggage tags will make your brand take flight.
Filter your brand into homes and workplaces, and see it take off by personalising something practical with your logo and sales message. Promotional gifts are all around!

it’a amazingly hard to find a decent blog on the promotional gifts or products industry, lots of blogs, except they are not really blogs, ie no coments no dialog, no nothing in fact, seems they are there to enhace the website they promote, have to think the search engines will not really consider them blogs, which is fair enough

To me promotional gift depend on who is your target consumer… are they household wife, or people who works at the office or even a student perhaps. You can’t just simply make promotional gift targeting on all sort of consumers if your product are more into office worker because it’ll be a waste of resources.
that’s just my opinion

Charlie, you’re exactly on the dot. I would definitely find out who I am targeting the promotional gifts for. In any case, I would always prefer keeping a good stock of customized pens and key chains because it can cater to almost any customer type.

You are absolutely that gifts can be properly used anywhere and everywhere - home, office and on the move practically covers all bases. The important thing is to understand your audience and their needs and tailor the product accordingly.

Charlie’s point is nice.My thinking is the same. The targeting is the most important thing in my opinion too. There can be made gifts for small children too. If they are interested they can also help the company grow

It is true that promotional gifts are all around, provided that your promotional gift is a really good one. many don’t provide a promotional gift with quality in order to increased the quantity and cover more people, many compromise on quality, but I really feel it should not be this way, in order to make your promotion effective, it is necessary to make your goods with excellent quality.

This is absolutely true. My kitchen cupboard is full of promotional mugs. LOL. I also have a few dozen pens, a few tote bags, and a torch keyring that my young daughter loves. Take a look around your home, and I bet you’ll be surprised at how many you own yourself.
