What are Promotional Bags
There are a lot of people who haven’t heard of the term ‘Promotional Bags’, but it is certain that they have in one way or another come across it or perhaps even own one. These bags are so common that most people no longer mind that they are there. In fact, almost everyone has received one in a way or another. They may have been given to them when buying a huge amount of food or drinks or when they attended a film premier or maybe when they purchased a computer. But what are promotional bags?
Promotional bags are those that are given away as free gift as part of a purchase or an ad campaign. They are considered as a great marketing tool because they reach the consumers at a near subliminal level and help to increase the interest for the marketed product. Almost every company with the intention of getting their name to their customers, has made use of promotional bags in their marketing strategy. These bags are very affordable and readily available as there are many companies that have been established for the sole purpose of manufacturing and supplying them.
Promotional bags may be free or they may be made for consumers to purchase them. Examples of free promotional bags are those that are given away by pharmaceutical representatives to physicians and those in the medical field in order to promote their products. Free bags often come with purchases that you have made , for instance, when you purchase a printer or a laptop computer. Banks also give bags away to loyal customers during special promotions.
Not all promotional bags are free of charge. Some companies like Disney manage to plug their movies by licencing and selling products that have the movie logos and characters applied to the bags. To give you a clearer picture, think back and remember how many Disney Princess or Pooh bags have you seen over time.
Whether promotional bags are given out for free or sold to adoring movie and TV fans, they still manage to do what they were created for and that is to generate interest on the products that they promote.

Bags are great for promotions. Everybody needs a bag to carry their things, especially college and high school students. When walking around on campus or at school between classes another student is sure to be walking in front of you or next to you with their bag around their shoulder. A bag with promotional material would be great at those times. Promoting with bags at a college campus is a great idea with lots of potential online customers.

although I believe it is can be quite expensive to produce, the promotional bags are highly effective medium and if you combine them with promotional caps it can be quite interesting.
promotional bags might not last long but if you manage to come out with great design and reusable aspect is taken into consideration, then I guess people might keep them and use it over and over again

yep, people are curious about a name they keep seeing, on bags , or t-shirts etc. For example take “Bench” I keep seeing it everywhere, I don’t know wht it is, but importantly I ‘m aware of the brand, reason, They keep putting their brand on everything, clothing t shirts, bags, umbrellas, so it works, and if I ever come to buy what they are selling, you know I will select their brand.

Promotional bags are especially a hit among IT conference attendees. It’s good to know, for example, that since you have paid to attend a conference, that the organizers would take the time to include their promotional materials in a high-quality laptop or executive bag, which the attendees will no doubt appreciate.

I have been to a number of conferences (work related and non-work) were bags are given away as “freebies”. A number of company are now giving away free canvas or linen bags to put shopping in - a great way to reduce the number of plastic bags around and help the environment!

With the current emphasis on saving the environment, bags are great tools to use to promote the company’s awareness and its proactive stand on the environment. Bags are useful for the end-users and because of the reasonably large surface area, creative promotional messages can be liberally used.

I think Freeda that there is so much choice to be had in the way of promotional bags that companies who use them for their campaigns can choose from the cheap tote bag to the more expensive laptop bag. You see cotton bags about all over the place, even the museums and art galleries have them now.

I have heard about promotional bags and as a matter of fact i have even got one. Like i purchased a laptop recently and with it they gave me a carry bag with big HP logo on it. I think big companies have already taken this way of promotion and i think they are also finding it useful.

Promotional bags are a good marketing tool, a very cheap and effective way of advertisement. They may be given for free or can be sold, either way they do there part as they increase the popularity of the product. That is the reason why almost every product has its own promotional bag.

I agree with Carlos, giving away bags ia a great promotion but giving away bags make cost a little bit. Bags are extremely useful entities which can be used daily in our lives. I experienced that most of the companies wont give away bags because of the cost factor.

I think that this method of promotion together with the pens is the most popular and effective. However, i don’t like the idea that some companies require money from the customers in order to get the bags. Why do they have to do that, when all of this is just for the success of their own company?Why people should do them the favor to pay them for their own promotion?

bags can be very useful in daily life. but the part of society they concern is very narrow. most men wont be carrying a bag with them all the time. and bag is quite a possesional thing. most people wont like a bag with a big emblem of the company depicted in it.

I have seen some very funcky bags these days …. people with them catch the attraction of people. … and together with that the company logo also gets the attraction … its actualy a very good way indeed…..

I agree with smithy and didonko.
College and high school students carrying their bag to attend their classes and involves several activities there. If the promotional bags look greats, for sure others student will ask for it. 
Frankly, I didn’t buy any promotional bags even its great and attractive. Because many companies out there will give the promotional bags to their customers for free. I think that the best way to appreciate your customer and make sure
them to be a loyal customer to your company!

Now adays when almost everyone has a laptop a laptop promo bag would be a great investment. You can give them or sell them cheap and they will be seen by a ton of people. Just think about how many laptop bags you see a month, then picture your logo on them.

Its really works especially when some event like school campaign and some college campaign. They sell it for big discount or give it as gift when someone register at their college or school. When i enter my college, that college give me 1 umbrella, 1 bags and 1 t-shirts. Its good right? I believe every one comes to our college will get a same thing like us. Its not only that, we also get rm1000 for our money pocket for 6 month. Its good right?

On speaking about all kinds of promotional products, bags play a vital role. Because it is widely used by almost everyone. People will carry it where ever they go and if the design and color of the bag is good looking, surely the logo will be read by most. This will increase the popularity of the product and the company.

Didonko makes a great point. I think bags along with a pen and a small notebook can be a very good marketing tool. Recently I purchased make up and because I spent an X amount of money they gave me a nice bag along with eye shadow. It was a delightful surprised since I did not know about it.

I believe a promotional bag that is personalized makes for a good marketing tool. Creation of such a bag should draw the attention of its users. Make them feel loved, wanted and understand where they are at. Keep in mind, “I’ve been there and done it.” Think of a gym rat and his/her mind set. “I hate carrying around my clothes and head player. There has to be an easier way for me to carry my belongings and everything I need to maximize my comfort.”

Promotional bag is very common for laptop, video camera and other gadgets. Usually, people will impress with freebies especially when there’s a bag included. I should say bag is one of the best promo tools even the cost is not so cheap. Recently i bought an ASUS notebook. Instead of getting the stock carrying bag, I also get a back pack with ASUS logo printed on it. Sure make me happy.

nice post. promotional blogs are useful in advertising because people need bags for carrying their goods. When I purchase laptop from HP, It provide me a bag with logo of HP free of cost.
That bag has nice look. When I go out for any travel or business purpose people knows in train or bus that I have Laptop of HP.
And this is making automatic advertising for HP.

The promotional bag can contain any number of items. One can look to some of the swank promo bags of Hollywood events that contain extremely expensive items like vacation coupons, jewelry…even ipods.
But the bags could just have simple things in them like mementos from the event at hand.

I am a big fan of promotional bags, the usefulness as well as the advertising value is huge.
Not only are you giving a person something that will useful in their everyday life, you are advertising to a huge amount of people as that person interacts with as they go about their day.
Everywhere that a person brings the promotional bag, it generates new exposure.
That is the just genius in my book.

The bags are for the promotions. Everyone needs a bag for their business, especially the colleges and the students of secondary school. @Charlie: Yea, fancy looking or trendy looking bags always catch peoples attention. If you could get to a mall and hand these out for free, man, you’d have every person in the mall carrying one in less then an hour.
