Make an impact with a good design!

Promotional merchandise is most effective when it is visually appealing as the receiver will keep the item if they like the look of it; this allows the branding to stay in view for longer. Design is a key factor when choosing the right merchandise to represent a company and the design needs to create a visual impact to portray a message. Good design will also reflect on the company in a positive way. If an item looks professional and visually appealing then these associations will be made with the company. So what makes a good design?

Colour plays a big part in the design process and complimentary colours usually work best! The colour of promotional merchandise should also follow the same pallet as the company that is handing it out as this will create brand recognition. Simplicity is also a wise choice so keep the number of colours to a minimum. This will keep costs low and also if there are too many colours involved the design on the item will look clumsy and cluttered.

Positioning of the design is very important as the design needs to be seen, if the company logo can’t be spotted then the promotion will be a failure. As an example if a promotional mug has a company logo inside the body then people won’t see it! Positioning is also important when it comes to aesthetics of the merchandise - the imagery needs to be balanced and look in place.

Finally the design needs to fit its purpose. If a hair dresser is holding an opening event then the promotional merchandise would have imagery relating to haircuts (e.g. a silhouette of scissors cutting a strand of hair) as this will build up a respectable brand. Brand promotions are aimed at an intended audience and to reach this audience the design needs to appeal to them.

Sticky notes are one of the best brand recognition methods available in today’s market due to their cost effectiveness and high marketing value.

Our work with brainstrust continues…

We recently sourced and produced 100 charity collection tins for brainstrust.

The charity tins will be used by brainstrust volunteers to distribute to shops, cafes and pubs as well as at events with the aim of raising much needed funds for the charity.

We were able to produce and deliver the charity collection tins within a couple of weeks highlighting our fast turnaround times. Richard Burniston, Sales Manager at Argon explains “We knew it was important to brainstrust to ensure quick delivery of the charity tins whilst never compromising on quality. We were able to do this by working closely with brainstrust, to ensure they were happy with the product at every stage of the order process from artwork approval to final delivery.”

Argon Donate 10,000 Wrist Bands to Cornwall’s Sky Extravaganza

Argon donated their promotional wrist bands to one of the biggest events to hit Cornwall this year, organised by the Hall for Cornwall, Sky Garden, based at lemon Quay. They donated two different versions of their wristbands, one for standard entry to the event and one for VIP access.

The international show featured a breathtaking aerial display, circus skills, music and fireworks. The project was supported by ZEPA and the European Union’s IV programme. Over 10,000 people attended the event and the atmosphere was fantastic. Comments received from spectators were very positive and most people said it brought a sense of fun to Cornwall. (more…)
